I know it’s not just me who struggles with things to do during the summer in Forsyth County & Cumming GA. That’s why I created this round-up of SUMMER FUN IN FORSYTH COUNTY FOR KIDS!

So, who’s ready for some Summer Fun from A to Z?  Maybe you’ll enjoy all of them, maybe you’ll pick a few here and there, no matter what you do we hope it gives you some ideas for Summer Fun with your kids in Cumming GA and throughout Forsyth County!

Here’s to SUMMER …

Adventures at Sawnee Mountain Preserve:  There is so much to do at Sawnee Mountain Preserve. You can take a hike up the mountain, play on the playgrounds, or try out the new climbing tower! They will even teach you to climb a tree with a harness and rope. For more information, call 770.781.2217.
Big Creek Greenway: This walking trail is currently 10 miles long but there are plans to extend it to 15 miles at some point. Take your bike, skates, running shoes and head on out to enjoy the scenery and get some exercise.

Chill Hill: Cool off with some delicious soft serve or hand scooped ice cream at Chill Hill in Vickery Village. I love their new fixed pricing model!
Drama: Take your kids to the theater by seeing a drama or dance performance this summer. There are plenty of options through Cumming Playhouse, Stipe Studio, Cumming Dance Academy, Forefront Arts, etc.

Eat from the Food Trucks: The Food Trucks n’ Forsyth County is back this year and even better. With over 12 food trucks, kids activities and live music. This would be a fun family or date night out! 
4th of July
Fourth of July Festivities: The City of Cumming is the place to be!  From the parade to the fireworks, it’s a fun, two-day event for the whole family.
Games: Our summers are hot! Cool off by spending the day inside playing games! You can play arcade games, ride bumper cars, or play a game of laser tag in the new two-story arena at Stars & Strikes Entertainment Center. TIP: Be sure to check Groupon before going, they typically have a deal up for purchase.
Hidden Gems: There are many hidden gems in Forsyth Çounty! We have picked out SEVEN that you should visit this summer. Let us know what you think about them!
Indoor Activities: Raining? Too hot out? No problem – we have TONS of places you can visit that are indoors on our Indoor Fun for Families guide.
Jump: Forsyth County is home to Monkey Joes, Catch Air, Jump TNTGet Air, and Sky ZoneTIP: Make sure to check each of the websites for daily specials and coupons to save money on your visit!
Kids Eat Free: Take the kids out to eat where they are free! IHOP and Steak n’ Shake offer Kids Eat Free everyday. Also, check our Kids Eat Free listing for more options organized by the day.
Lake Lanier: Take a ride over to the lake and enjoy a day at either a park by the shore or rent a boat for the day. Also, LanierWorld is also a fun day activity full of the fun water park, big beach, a boardwalk, and sunset cove. You could spend all day and even the night there!
Movies: Take the kids out for a movie day! Movies 400 is offering the Summer Movie Series again every Tuesday & Thursday at 10am (first come, first serve). Click here to see the 2017 schedule. {They have a new pricing model this year – $4 for admission, small popcorn & small drink. If you bring a canned good to donate the price goes down to $2 for admission, small popcorn & small drink}

North GA Running Co Run Local Series:  Looking for something new to do this summer with your family? Sign up to run a race with North GA Running Co! They have a short distance and long distance series.
Outdoor Summer Movies: Vickery Village will be the place to be this summer!  It’s a great line-up of some really great outdoor movies for the whole family. And it’s FREE! Click here to see the schedule.
Park & Playground Tour: A few years ago we came up with this idea to take the kids on a park tour. They loved it and ask often to do it again. So pack some snacks, a picnic lunch, sunscreen, lots of water and head out to visit some of the 20+ Parks and Playgrounds in Forsyth County.
Quarter Midget Racing: The Cumming Fairgrounds has a line-up of racing throughout the summer.  Check out the racing schedule and get more information here.
Read: The Forsyth County Libraries and Barnes & Noble have great summer reading programs. They also have TONS of story times and activities through the summer.
Swim or Spray Pad: The Cumming Aquatic Center or the Old Atlanta Spray Pad is a great way to have fun in the water this Summer!
Tiny Towne: Ok, I know this isn’t in Forsyth County. But it’s a close drive and it’s a great way to spend a HOT or rainy day during the summer. TIP: Be sure to check Groupon before going, they typically have a deal up for purchase
Unwind: This one is for you MOMS & DADS! Summer is hard on us – whether we work outside the home or stay home with the kids, summer is a lot of juggling. So give yourself grace and patience this summer. The days are long but the years are short! Treat yourself to a date night or a spa treatment. Maybe even a good bottle of wine would do the trick to help you unwind this summer! 🙂
Vacation Bible School: There are lots of great VBS Programs in Cumming & Forsyth County.  If you haven’t signed up your little ones yet, don’t worry – I’m sure you’ll find one to get signed up with.
Warbington Farms – Pick your own strawberries and let the kids play on the Fun Park! We think you could spend all day here! TIP: Make sure you check their Facebook page for updated hours.

Zoo: OK, I know this isn’t in Forsyth County. But it’s close enough and definitely worth the drive! Take ride up north to visit the North Georgia Zoo & Petting Farm.
