To the Moon and Beyond with Dr. Lesley Simanton-Coogan

July 14, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

Almost 50 years ago on July 20, 1969 the first humans set foot on the Moon. Today, the Moon is still the farthest our species has traveled, but not the farthest we’ve explored.

Join Lesley Simanton-Coogan of the University of North Georgia’s (UNG) George E. Coleman, Sr. Planetarium to learn about exploration in our solar system and beyond.

Lesley Simanton-Coogan is the Planetarium Director and a Lecturer in UNG’s Department of Physics. She received a B.A. in physics at Albion College (Albion, MI) and a Ph.D. in physics at the University of Toledo (Toledo, OH). She has researched populations of star clusters and galaxy evolution. Currently, she is working on science outreach through the Planetarium.
