The 2019 Boulder Dash 5K | 10K Race is a unique race in Forsyth County, Georgia.

The 2019 Boulder Dash is happening at the end of THIS month! And I want you to attend for a whole bunch of reasons. Today I have narrowed it down to the top 5 reasons. But before I go there, let me share with you all about the Boulder Dash.

First of all, I bet you didn’t know this event was created and run by the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce. And if you ask me, it goes right along with their mission. Our chamber’s mission is to be the voice of business & to provide leadership and solutions to foster a strong economic environment and a superior quality of life. They are dedicated to building a strong, sustainable economy for the long-term future of Forsyth County by assisting businesses and recruiting new businesses that will make long-term investments in our future. This race is a great opportunity for the community to come together, network, and exercise.

Now that you know the who behind the race. Let me tell you more about the race. The course winds through an active quarry, offering participants views of the working quarry face, ancient rock deposits, and massive equipment used to process, move and manage the rock. At the finish line, the Martin Marietta Spring Fling awaits, with Exhibitor/Team Tents and lots of fun for racers and spectators alike. It’s going to be such a fun day! Fingers crossed for beautiful weather.

5 Reasons To Attend The Boulder Dash:

Reason #1 – This is your opportunity to see a rock quarry. Sign up the whole family! It’s truly a sight to see!

Reason #2 – This race and family festival is truly a fun family time! Invite your friends as well. We are hoping for some beautiful spring weather this year.

Reason #3 – Exercise. Need I say any more? This race provides an opportunity for you to get outdoors and run/walk. Don’t forget about the preparation that goes into being ready to do this race. The health experts say that walking 25 minutes a day can add up to 7 years to your life. To me, that makes it worth it to walk every day to train for this race also.

Reason #4 – You are giving back to our local Forsyth County Parks & Recreation. The race proceeds are donated to the Forsyth County Parks Foundation. You can find out more about the organization right here –> https://forsythcountyparks.org

Reason #5 – The Spring Fling family festival is one that you don’t want to miss! It’s an opportunity to check out our wonderful activities: enjoy various food and beverages for purchase, relax in the field with friends, and get the kids involved with fun springtime family activities
