Youth Football & Cheerleading 2013 in Forsyth County
It may only be Spring and Summer may be on your mind, but if you have a young one looking to play football or cheer this year, you need to think about Fall … at least long enough to get them registered for the 2013 Youth Football & Cheerleading season!!
The Forsyth County Parks & Recreation Summer Activity Guide printed the following information:
Cheerleading & Football Registration Dates: Saturday, April 13th & May 18th – 9am to 1pm
Football Only: Saturday, June 22nd – 9am to 1pm
HOWEVER, when checking the park for my own children, I saw several discrepancies listed online that didn’t match up with that general information. SO, my recommendation is to check with your individual park and plan accordingly. You can even register online and avoid that hassle too!
Early bird discount rates do apply, and it appears that you can save the most when registering before April 15th. So don’t delay! You can find park links below:
Cheerleading & Football Registration Locations:
Bennett Park – Bennett Park Football Field (both Cheerleading & Football)
Central Park – Central Park Recreation Center (both Cheerleading & Football)
Midway Park – Midway Park Community Building (Cheerleading), Midway Park Football Field (Football)
Sharon Springs Park – Sharon Springs Park Community Building (Cheerleading), Sharon Springs Football Field (Football)
General Information:
Children must be 5 years old prior to September 1, 2013 for Cheerleading and 5 years old prior to August 1, 2013 for Football. Teams will be scheduled to play a 7 or 8 game season plus playoffs. Practices will be held Monday through Saturday prior to games and Monday through Friday after games begin.
