The Place of Forsyth is joining forces with New Life Technology Group to provide a contactless, convenient, and secure way to recycle unwanted consumer electronics and help provide much-needed laptops to students who cannot afford any technology. The first annual event will take place on Saturday, August 8, from 10 am – 2 pm at The Place of Forsyth located at 2550 The Place Circle, Cumming, GA 30040.

To make the event a success, the two agencies are looking for your help to provide the electronics. “We’re really excited to partner with The Place of Forsyth to get kids the technology they need. At the event, we will take all sorts of electronics, but we are very interested in laptops that can be used for school” says Tim Conley, executive director of New Life Technology Group. A full list of acceptable items can be found at www.newlifetechgroup.com the FAQs tab.

“For many Forsyth County students affordable and reliable technology to do schoolwork is out of reach. We’re excited to collaborate all the time, but especially when we know that our county’s most vulnerable population will be served. The gift of these laptops and other technology can be a life-changer for these students, that can affect the total trajectory of their life” explained Joni Smith, President/CEO of The Place.
