SUMMARY:Rightfully Hers: 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment
DESCRIPTION:Visit the library to explore Rightfully Hers\, a new popup exhibition from the National Archives commemorating the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment. \nRightfully Hers contains simple messages exploring the history of the ratification of the 19th amendment\, women’s voting rights before and after the 19th\, and its impact today. Despite decades of marches\, petitions\, and public debate to enshrine a woman’s right to vote in the constitution\, the 19th Amendment – while an enormous milestone – did not grant voting rights for all. The challenges of its passage reverberate to the ongoing fight for gender equity today. \nThis traveling exhibit will be on display at all Forsyth County Public Library branches: \nAugust 2 – September 1\, 2020: Post Road Library \nSeptember 5 – October 1\, 2020: Sharon Forks Library \nOctober 5 – October 31\, 2020: Hampton Park Library \nNovember 3 – November 30\, 2020: Cumming Library \nRightfully Hers is presented in part by the Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission and the National Archives Foundation through the generous support of Unilever\, Pivotal Ventures\, Carl M. We invite doodles\, other furry friends and their humans to Halcyon for an afternoon of dog-loving fun!  \nCheck in at the Halcyon table in the Village Green to pick up your free swag and a schedule of events. Then visit our participating restaurants and retailers for special treats\, take photos in the VW Photo Bus (dogs welcome!)\, join one of our Pooch Parades at 2 or 4 pm\, play some doggy bingo in the Green\, dine on one of our dog friendly patios or browse our dog welcoming boutiques including Unexpected Pooch\, take a walk on the Greenway connected to Halcyon and so much more!  \nPlease follow our health and safety practices while on site including social distancing at all times and frequent hand washing or sanitizing at one of our hand sanitizer stations. Complimentary sanitizer\, wipes and masks are available at our Sanitization Station. Please stay home if you are not feeling well. \nWe can’t wait to meet you all!
