DESCRIPTION:The ACT and SAT are touted as an exam over everything that students have learned from 8th grade on. \nThe good news is\, this isn’t true. It is a finite amount of learnable content.  \nThe bad news is\, it’s still a whole heck of a lot of information.  \nAnd often determines a student’s academic and financial future.  \nCan you imagine walking into this 3+ hour exam without an instructor to review the information? No one can be prepared for that! \nThe first half of our workshop will be spent going over content and strategies for each section. After that\, a full ACT or SAT test is administered. DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Totally Running & Walking\, Halcyon is hosting the inaugural Hammer & Heels Women’s 5K to benefit Habitat for Humanity of North Georgia’s Women Build program\, which brings women together from across the region to form an all-female volunteer construction crew\, raise funds and build a house from the ground up for a local family in need. While the race begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturday\, May 9\, the fun starts the night before with a race packet pickup party from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Village Green. After the 5K\, walker and runners will be treated to post-race pampering\, including a celebratory mimosa courtesy of Ocean & Acre plus massages\, shopping discounts and brunch specials provided by Halcyon restaurants and retailers. DESCRIPTION:Rolling Thunder Enterprises and partner\, INDIO Trail\, announces its 31st Annual Cherokee County Indian Festival and Mother’s Day Powwow on Saturday\, May 9\, and Sunday\, May 10\, 2020\, at Boling Park in Canton\, Georgia. \nThis north Georgia tradition features many favorite activities for all audiences\, including a Native American dance competition; hoop dancer and Aztec dancers; tipis\, and living Indian village and displays; Creek Encampment; primitive skills; environmental and wildlife displays; Native American artisans; Save the Horses rescue group; train rides and other activities for children; Mother’s Day Honor Dance and much more. The grand entry will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. \nFood will be served throughout the day and is scheduled to include Native American cuisine such as buffalo burgers\, gator tail\, roasted corn\, Indian frybread\, Indian tacos and other dishes. \nThe Indian Festival and Mother’s Day Powwow will take place rain or shine. Tickets will be on sale at the gate throughout the event\, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
