DESCRIPTION:We offer a six week course in Math\, ELA and Science to prepare your student for these daunting tests. \n8th grade: Math and ELA\n7th grade: Science \nFebruary 22nd – March 28th \nMath: 10-11:30\nReading: 12-3:30\nScience: 2-3:30 \nDuring the first 4 sessions we will teach the major units of each subject. Session 5 will be a review day. If your student misses a session\, this will be the time to make up for that; if your student needs additional support in any area\, we will review applicable content. This month’s Community Author Spotlight shines on author Hal Schmerer and his late daughter Naomi Schmerer. \nAfter his daughter Naomi lost her battle with cancer\, Hal created the book Waiting for the Next Blue Sky using her photographs\, blog entries\, and poems combined with writings from him and others. The book chronicles Naomi’s cancer discovery and her fight to beat it. It also includes stories about Naomi from friends and family. \nHal will talk about the process of creating the book\, including his experience of self-publishing.
