United Way of Forsyth County
2012 Day of Caring & Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast
On your mark, get set…Go! The games have begun for United Way of Forsyth County! On Friday, September 7, 2012, volunteers and donors will be going for the gold at United Way’s Day of Caring & Campaign Kick-off. The day will begin with hundreds of United Way supporters gathering at the Forsyth Conference Center to celebrate the start of the 2013 Campaign. Breakfast will be served at 7:30am followed by an exciting event with guest speaker Gerry Brown, 2012 London Olympic Torch Runner.
The Day of Caring event provides volunteers from local businesses, schools, civic organizations and churches the opportunity to lend a helping hand to nonprofit organizations throughout Forsyth County. In 2011, approximately 593 volunteers participated in the 10th Annual Day of Caring projects at 33 different locations all over our community. Volunteers spent time doing yard work, painting, sorting food donations, reading to children and many other activities. This day is a collective effort by a variety of people to make an impact on our community through United Way.
If you would like to attend the Kick-Off Breakfast, please RSVP to the United Way of Forsyth County office at 770.781.4110. Cost is $10 at the door. For more event information, visit www.UnitedWayForsyth.com or email lindsay@unitedwayforsyth.com.
More about the United Way of Forsyth County
United Way of Forsyth County works to advance the common good by focusing on education, income, health and basic needs. These are the building blocks for a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement and good health. It takes everyone working together. Because underneath everything we are, underneath everything we do, we are all connected, interdependent, united. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when a family becomes financially stable, when people have good health. We all LIVE UNITED.
