Coupons for Troops

I have a new coupon passion.  And it has nothing to do with saving me money!

Kimberly, a Cumming Resident and local business owner, is giving me a new appreciation for coupons.  And I’m really excited to share the program in hopes that the Cumming Local Readers will be able to help!

A Southern Woman Resale, Kimberly’s business, is now a drop off point for collecting coupons for military bases.

How does it work?

  • Bring any Manufacturer Coupons you don’t use (even expired ones up to two months old) to Southern Woman Resale.  Cut coupons are ideal, but not a requirement.  The goal is just to collect lots of coupons!
  • Kimberly will prepare the coupons and mail to the proper organization which then distributes them to military bases overseas.

Kimberly said, “I would love to get so many coupons that we have to set up volunteers here to cut and organize.“  Personally – I think we can make that happen!

In the first package, A Southern Woman Resale mailed over $1200 worth of coupons collected!

Why are our coupons needed?

One article I read, described how coupons are not included in most oversea newspapers.  Saving money definitely helps because off base a dollar may be worth a lot less depending on location.  However, Manufacturer Coupons are accepted at the military bases where families shop.  Even expired coupons?  Yes.  Overseas military bases will accept Manufacturer Coupons (but only up to two months old should be sent).

Getting involved is incredibly easy!  My family has our first envelope ready to drop off.  Join us!  And help spread the word too!
