So, who’s ready for some Summer Fun from A to Z?  Maybe you’ll enjoy all of them, maybe you’ll pick a few here and there, no matter what you do we hope it gives you some ideas for Summer Fun with your kids in Cumming GA and throughout Forsyth County!

Here’s to SUMMER …

Adventures at Sawnee Mountain Preserve:  There is so much to do at Sawnee Mountain Preserve. You can take a hike up the mountain, play on the playgrounds, or try out the new climbing tower! They will even teach you to climb a tree with a harness and rope. For more information, call 770.781.2217.

Big Creek Greenway: This walking trail is currently 10 miles long but there are plans to extend it to 15 miles at some point. Take your bike, skates, running shoes and head on out to enjoy the scenery and get some exercise.

Chill Hill: Cool off with some delicious soft serve or hand scooped ice cream at Chill Hill in Vickery Village. I love their new fixed pricing model!

Drama: Take your kids to the theater by seeing a drama or dance performance this summer. There are plenty of options through Cumming Playhouse, Stipe Studio, Cumming Dance Academy, Forefront Arts, etc.

Eat from the Food Trucks: The Food Trucks n’ Forsyth County is back this year and even better. With over 12 food trucks, kids activities and live music. This would be a fun family or date night out!

4th of July

Fourth of July Festivities: The City of Cumming is the place to be!  From the parade to the fireworks, it’s a fun, two-day event for the whole family.

Games: Our summers are hot! Cool off by spending the day inside playing games! You can play arcade games, ride bumper cars, or play a game of laser tag in the new two-story arena at Stars & Strikes Entertainment Center. TIP: Be sure to check Groupon before going, they typically have a deal up for purchase.

Hidden Gems: There are many hidden gems in Forsyth Çounty! We have picked out SEVEN that you should visit this summer. Let us know what you think about them!

Indoor Activities: Raining? Too hot out? No problem – we have TONS of places you can visit that are indoors on our Indoor Fun for Families guide.

Jump: Forsyth County is home to Monkey Joes, Catch Air, Jump TNTGet Air, and Sky ZoneTIP: Make sure to check each of the websites for daily specials and coupons to save money on your visit!

Lake Lanier: Take a ride over to the lake and enjoy a day at either a park by the shore or rent a boat for the day. Also, LanierWorld is also a fun day activity full of the fun water park, big beach, a boardwalk, and sunset cove. You could spend all day and even the night there!

Park & Playground Tour: A few years ago we came up with this idea to take the kids on a park tour. They loved it and ask often to do it again. So pack some snacks, a picnic lunch, sunscreen, lots of water and head out to visit some of the 20+ Parks and Playgrounds in Forsyth County.

Quarter Midget Racing: The Cumming Fairgrounds has a line-up of racing throughout the summer.  Check out the racing schedule and get more information here.

Read: The Forsyth County Libraries and Barnes & Noble have great summer reading programs. They also have TONS of story times and activities through the summer.

Swim or Spray Pad: The Cumming Aquatic Center or the Old Atlanta Spray Pad is a great way to have fun in the water this Summer!

Tiny Towne: Ok, I know this isn’t in Forsyth County. But it’s a close drive and it’s a great way to spend a HOT or rainy day during the summer. TIP: Be sure to check Groupon before going, they typically have a deal up for purchase

Unwind: This one is for you MOMS & DADS! Summer is hard on us – whether we work outside the home or stay home with the kids, summer is a lot of juggling. So give yourself grace and patience this summer. The days are long but the years are short! Treat yourself to a date night or a spa treatment. Maybe even a good bottle of wine would do the trick to help you unwind this summer! 🙂
