Where will you see Santa in Forsyth County this year?

There are lots of opportunities for your children (or maybe yourself!) to see Santa in Forsyth County this year.  We know from previous years, that this list will continue to grow as we get more into December.  We’ll continue to update this round-up accordingly!

If you know of any scheduled “Santa Sightings” that are listed, please let us know!

The Avenues of Forsyth: Complimentary Photos with Santa and Horse Drawn Carriage Rides. Bring your camera and enjoy complimentary pictures with Santa in the park near Coldwater Creek. Pictures with Santa and Horse Drawn Carriage rides are every Saturday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm November 24th – December 22nd.
(Read this note from “Shop the Avenue”:  Bring your camera! There will not be an onsite photographer this year so please feel free to bring your own camera for photos. Lines will close early to accommodate a 5 PM end time.)

Bottoms Tree Farms: Santa Claus is coming to Bottoms Tree Farm on Saturday November 24th and Saturday, December 1st from 10 am to Noon. Also enjoy regular activities during the day as well.

Wakoola Gardens:  Santa & his real Reindeer will be at Wakoola Gardens on Sunday, November 25th from 11am to 2pm.  With a recommended $10 donation per family, you’ll receive a digital photo of your visit with Santa.  All donations will benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta through the Forsyth Friends organization.

3N-Onederland:  Photos with Santa, Hot Treats, Lights & More at the 3N1 Studio off Spot Road in Cumming.  December 1st & 2nd, 8th & 9th, 15th & 16th.  Saturdays 5pm to 9pm and Sundays 4pm to 8pm.  Admission for 3NOnderland is $10.00/adults and $5.00/kids.  Photo Packages start at $19.99.  Click here for photo package pricing.

Adventure Kids:  Adventure Kids may be closing their doors (sadly), but they’re ready for one last party before they do!  Santa & Ms. Claus will be coming to Adventure Kids on Sunday, December 2nd from 4pm to 6pm.  Admission is one unwrapped toy per family or the regular $5 per person walk-in fee.

Christmas in Cumming at the Fairgrounds:  Get Free Photos with Santa during the Arts & Crafts Festival event the weekend of December 7th & 8th.  Friday the 7th @ 6 PM – 9 PM and Saturday the 8th @ 10 AM – 2 PM

Warbington Farms: Santa will be at the farm Saturday, December 8th.  Get your picture with Santa, pick out a beautiful Fraser Fir Christmas tree, watch your wreaths be made in the barn, take a ride on the wagon around the farm & more!

Breakfast with Santa:  Santa Claus is coming to the Sexton Hall Enrichment Center and Forsyth County Senior Services invites families to welcome him. Senior Services will host a Breakfast with Santa event to help celebrate the Christmas season on Saturday, December 8 from 8 to 11 a.m.

Dinner with Santa:  For just $5 per plate, enjoy dinner, a cake walk, silent auction plus a photo with Santa.  All proceeds benefit the Dustin’s Place Therapeutic Horseback Riding.  Saturday, December 8th from 4pm to 6pm.  (see details on Event Calendar Listing)

Catch Air:  With your visit to Catch Air, you could bump in to the jolly guy!  Tuesday, December 11th from 4pm to 6pm.

Pet Photos with Santa in Forsyth County

Ruckers: Looking to take your favorite pet to see Santa, check out Ruckers! Santa will be at Rucker Horse & Pet, 3540 Keith Bridge Road, Cumming 30041 on Saturday, December 8 — and at Rucker Pet & Wild Bird, 5456 Bethelview Road, Cumming 30040 on Saturday, December 15. Photo hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Contact Ruckers for further information on pricing, packages, etc.

The Barker Lounge:  Santa will be at The Barker Lounge, December 13th from 3pm to 7pm to take photos with your pets.  Please contact The Barker Lounge for further information on pricing, packages, etc.

I’ve been such a fan of Adventure Kids – but that’s easy when your kids absolutely LOVE going there and you know you’ll greeted by the same friendly faces each time!  However earlier this month, we shared some really sad news.  Adventure Kids would be closing its doors in December.

I hate seeing locally owned businesses closing their doors – for several reasons.  And this one was a lot harder because I had to explain it to a 4 year old and a 7 year old!

But Adventure Kids is ready to have one last hoorah!

Election Day 2012 is here!  But don’t worry, I’m not about to delve into politics now!  My only agenda is to share some some great events and deals going on around Forsyth County … and of course remind you to vote!  With the kids out of school, there’s actually a lot of things to do and take advantage of (after getting your vote in of course).

2012 General Election – The Forsyth County Polls will be open from 7am to 7pm on Tuesday, November 6th.  You must report to your designated precinct to cast your ballot.  For all information, please visit the Elections page of the Forsyth County Website.

Food for Thought – Our friends at Food for Thought need your vote!  This is such an awesome organization in Forsyth County and I know so many of you already support their door-to-door food drive, but this is another super easy way to support them some more.  Simply cast your online vote & help them in the “Fueling Good” campaign.  They need gas & they need our support!!  Click here to vote for Food for Thought.

Play at Adventure Kids for FREE – November 6, 2012

Updated:  You guys have done awesome at sharing this event!  Therefore, I highly recommend following Adventure Kids on Facebook on Tuesday or contacting them prior to your visit to make sure they have not reached capacity at the time you’re hoping to come.

Free Open Play – All Day at Adventure Kids in Forsyth County

The kids are out of school on Tuesday, November 6th for Election Day and chances are they’ll be bored by about 10am.  Therefore the timing is perfect to enjoy a FREE Open Play Day with our friends at Adventure Kids!

Drop in Tuesday, November 6th for a FREE Open Play Day from 10am to 6pm. 

On Thursday, Adventure Kids shared on their Facebook Page a very brave post – they announced a tentative closing date of December 10, 2012.  Their page was flooded with support and wonderful comments to help keep their doors open.  And what did owners Steve & Heather decide to do?  They reached out to Cumming Local and asked if we’d announce a FREE Open Play Day on their behalf!

I encourage you to read their post with all the details, but in summary – the “closing date” is not set in stone but rather a line in the sand to see if they can continue past this date.

If you have yet to visit Adventure Kids, this coming Tuesday will be a great opportunity to experience their facility FREE of charge.  Take in the fun & see what you’ve been missing.  If you haven’t been in a while, it’s a great opportunity to stop in and see what’s new!  And if you’re regulars, this would be a great time to stop in & show your support!

In creating Adventure Kids, Steve & Heather had two goals – fun & affordability.  For my family, they have definitely accomplished that.  My children most certainly have fun and I love the affordability.  Plus the flexibility too!  Did you know, you can bring outside food during open play – LOVE that!!
