One of the great things about living in North Atlanta is that we get the best of both worlds! We live close enough to take advantage of some of the great things about the city of Atlanta, but we live far enough away from the hustle & bustle that goes along with it!
Atlanta has some great museums, major league sporting teams, places to go, things to do & special events.
And because of all of that, it has become very popular with the “group-buying” deal sites. These sites are a great way to save 50% or more on services, products or activities! By now, you’ve probably heard of Groupon – arguably the leading “group-buying” site around. But there are so many more sites to take advantage of and it seems like a new one is coming on the scene every other day!
The majority of these deals are for things outside of Cumming, but you’ll be surprised at how many Cumming-based deals you can find. I’ve compiled a list of my favorite current group-buying deal sites & a little tip as to why they are my favorite. Just click on the name of each one & if you sign up, you’ll receive an email whenever a new deal is available.
Forsyth News Daily Deals
Forsyth News is now in the Daily Deal business, featuring Forsyth County businesses. These deals are daily and only offer a certain number with each new deal so jump on them quickly if you’re interested.
Half-Off Depot
I’ve mentioned Half-Off Depot several times on Facebook before. My family has scored some great deals to places & restaurants (Cinco’s, Lenny’s Subs, Buckhead Pizza Company & more) that we already frequent, so this is a no-brainer to me. Most of the deals will stick around longer than just one day (unlike most of the other deal-sites).
Living Social
This site has probably become just as popular as Groupon. They have featured local stores like Skin Solutions, La CupCakerie, and more.
Plum District
The site has launched national deals for a while now, but they are also starting to focus on local deals as well. I’ve already seen (and purchased) a deal for a Cumming business so it’s worth keeping an eye on.
Savvy Savings by The Savvy Source
With every deal you buy, 5% of your purchase will be donated to a preschool of your choice! Plus an additional 5% is donated to a preschool scholarship fund for families in need. I love this! I’ve selected the pre-school that my children go to. It was very easy to do & with this incentive, I can easily use it as an excuse to buy the deals!! Savvy Savings currently does not have a deal every day, but when they do, they are usually pretty good!
Mamapedia Deals
Similiar to Savvy Savings, 5% of your purchases will be donated to a school or preschool of your choice! I once bought a $10 Starbucks Gift Card for just $5 through Mamapedia! Their deals vary between services and/or products.
So, those are just a few of my favorites! There really are new ones popping up all the time. So, sign up for a few and take advantage of the savings!
