New Kindermusik Studio Opens in Cumming, Georgia

Kindermusik uses award-winning, research-based curricula and world-class educators to provide engaging musical learning experiences during the years most critical to brain development.
After completing a comprehensive training program that incorporates education in child development and music concepts from Kindermusik International, Erica Culbertson has received her Kindermusik license and has opened a studio named Growing Musicians LLC in Cumming. (Classes are held at Cumming First United Methodist Church.) Now trained to tap into the different developmental stages and learning styles of children, Culbertson is poised to bring the power and joy of music-based learning to the children and families of Forsyth County, and make available the long-lasting and far-reaching benefits to all areas of development – physical, cognitive, social and emotional. Culbertson says, “In addition to the full-brain benefits Kindermusik offers, classes are playful and fun — allowing children and their parents or caregivers to socialize and make friends.”

Since 1978, more than two million families in over 70 countries have enjoyed Kindermusik music and movement classes, beginning as early as their first infant months. Classes involve a mixture of singing, instrument play, dancing and movement, storytime, and other activities that help young children and their families discover how music can enrich their lives and build a strong foundation for a lifetime love of learning.
Psychologists, neuroscientists, and experts in early childhood development have demonstrated that music does more for children than bring them joy; it helps their brain make the connections needed for virtually every kind of intelligence. Kindermusik’s curriculum is built on this research.

A few key benefits to the classes:
• Activities are designed to develop and strengthen a child’s physical and neural functions, social-emotional skills, early literacy, early math, and much more.
• The style of the class allows for parent/child bonding moments. This bonding boosts learning. Music and movement classes can spark learning in young children, and when done in conjunction with a parent, can help build bonds between parent and child.
• Parents are granted access to Kindermusik Online to continue the musical play and learning at home or on-the-go, as well as provide valuable resources for great parenting.
