A place for adults with developmental disabilities to gather and belong.
Newly offered through Forsyth County Parks & Recreation, the Gathering Place is a place for adults with developmental disabilities to gather and belong.
The program offers different themes and activities, including games, fitness, music, art, safety, and special guests, all geared to inspire learning, friendships, and fun.
It is designed for adults that have mild to moderate developmental disabilities and must be able to use the restroom without assistance (unless a caregiver stays for the program).
Class Information:
$15/class
Meeting Fridays from 5-7 pm at Fowler Park

More About the Gathering Place:
Jeni Fobart created the Gathering Place and is the lead instructor. She has a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Counseling, but more importantly, she has a heart for adults with special needs.
Helping people with Developmental Disabilities is a ministry Jeni believes in wholeheartedly. She knows the difficulties through firsthand experience – family members and throughout her career. She created this program out of her desire to provide community opportunities and help foster friendships for special needs adults.
