It’s time for another Community Foods Order
If you’re not familiar with Community Foods, let me start with a little background first – It’s actually based in Cumming, GA but they offer deliveries throughout Metro Atlanta. The overall concept is that they sell products – Chicken (hormone free, no steroids, etc.), Ground Beef (all natural, no hormones, etc.) and Fish (now Tilapia, Cod & Salmon).
It’s easy to become a customer, you simply visit their Delivery Calendar, add to your cart, purchase online & then drive to the pick-up location you select on the day & time specified. Not all products are sold at the same time. But once you register with them you’ll receive email updates letting you know what is available and when.
My family has ordered both the chicken (read about our chicken experience here) - which some of you cursed me about when it arrived, ha!! And also the fish (both Tilapia & Salmon).
The good news though is now it’s time to order FISH! I have been super impressed with it. Both the Tilapia & Salmon was flash-frozen & individually wrapped. It comes in large filets, is really pretty in color & it was perfect for sharing or splitting with friends. And both have also tasted great!! We all eat a lot of it – even my three year old. And since it’s individual it’s easy for even me to pull one out for lunch. The order form says that the Tilapia & Salmon are individually wrapped. It does not say the same for Cod, so if you’re interested in that & need to know how it’s packaged first … contact Community Foods.

*Note: If we’re the first ones to share Community Foods with you, it would be awesome if you’d be so kind as to list “info@cumminglocal.com” as the referral. If not, I won’t know any better, so no worries!!

Steroids are hormones and the use of hormones in ALL chicken is prohibited by federal law. I hope you did not spend a bunch of money for “Hormone Free” chicken because you just paid for nothing more than marketing.
I just checked Community Foods website and their only claim that may be different from ordinary chicken is the “Free Roaming Environment”. They do not clarify what this means. Chickens in a conventional chicken house are free roaming.
If you ask me it looks like they are selling a very standard product with a bunch of meaningless claims for a premium. Their claims about the chicken are misleading at best.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Rachel!
