Stamp Out Hunger in Forsyth County

If you live in zip codes 30040, 30041 or 30028 – simply place a bag of non-perishable food items at your mailbox on May 10th &/or 11th.  As your letter carrier delivers mail, they’ll collect your items which will then be distributed to local food banks in Cumming & Forsyth County!

The Cumming Post Office will also collect donations between May 6 and May 11th at their Tribble Gap Road location.

Last year, 10 Food Pantries, in our community benefited from the 18 tons that was collected!!

Come out and get doused with a rainbow of colors to support Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man and Woman of the year campaign. The campaign hopes to raise 650k dollars in 10 weeks!! You can run, jog, walk, crawl along the scenic route with no worries since it is truly a fun run. Let us get colorful to stamp out blood cancers.

This approximately 100-acre park borders the Chattahoochee River and features a canoe launch. Two pavilions, more than two miles of walking trails and a river-themed nature-inspired playground are also included at Chattahoochee Pointe. The entrance to the park is off of Old Atlanta Road, approximately 0.4 miles south of the entrance to Olde Atlanta Club.

POLO GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB CELEBRATES 25th ANNIVERSARY BY SUPPORTING THE WOUNDED WARRIOR FOUNDATION

― Polo Golf & Country Club, a Heritage Golf Group Property in Cumming, Georgia, is pleased to announce that it is celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year.

To commemorate the Club’s upcoming 25th Anniversary, Polo Golf & Country Club has unveiled a new logo, planned special events throughout the season and the Club will feature specialty logo merchandise which will be available in the golf shop for Members and guests.

Polo Golf & Country Club’s first official event of their 25th year Anniversary celebration will be the 2.5 Mile FUN RUN held on April 27th at the Polo Golf & Country Clubhouse. The race will be open to the community and club membership is not required to participate.

As part of Polo Golf & Country Club’s continued commitment to make a positive impact in the Cumming Forsyth community, a $500 donation will go to the Wounded Warrior Project on behalf of the Fun Run.  The Wounded Warrior Project is a non-profit organization supported by PGA TOUR Players Boo Weekley, Jason Gore and Nick Watney dedicated to providing unique, direct programs and services to meet the specialized needs of severely injured service men and women.

Join Mia’s Pizza & Eats for a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser benefiting Cumming’s Food for Thought Project.  Cumming Local is a huge fan of the Food for Thought Project – an amazing organization in Cumming GA and Mia’s is a big supporter of their efforts.  This is sure to be a great night for a great cause!

Tickets are $15 (+tax) for adults. Children under 10 are $10 (+tax).
Spaghetti dinner tickets do not include sales tax or gratuity.

About Food For Thought:

The beremedy Zumbathon is an hour and a half Zumba (dance exercise) class led by a professional Zumba instructor. All proceeds will benefit Forsyth Family Haven.

beremedy (be-remedy) is a new, innovative, and student-led club at Lambert High School that has the goal of “seeing the need and being the remedy” within the community. They work solely through social media to connect those in need with those who can help by taking needs from their school social work (such as diapers or protein shakes) and then using their social media platforms to ask followers and friends for donations. Those who can fill the need simply reply and become the remedy. This will be their first fundraising event, for the charity of choice: Forsyth Family Haven.
