2012 Cumming Greek Festival

cumming greek festivalThe 2012 Cumming Greek Festival

It’s time for another Cumming Greek Festival – full of fabulous food, dancing, entertainment, music and more!

If you’re of Greek heritage then you’ve probably been and already know about what a great event it is.  If you’re not & you’ve never been before, it’s a really neat event to visit.

Of course you won’t be disappointment by the delicious food!  And both adults and kids will enjoy some of the entertainment & music.  And don’t forget to check out all the shopping & vendors – authentic Greek items, clothing, ceramics, copper, books, icons, jewelry, gold, and handcrafted items.

The Cumming Greek festival is Forsyth county’s largest ethnic event. It offers the community a unique opportunity to experience the rich Greek culture. The continuous live Greek music and traditional bouzouki will fill you while you enjoy energetic live traditional Greek dance performances.

Dates & Hours:

Friday, October 19th 3pm – 10pm
Saturday, October 20th 11am – 10pm
Sunday, October 21st 11:30am – 6pm

Location:

Saints Raphael, Nicholas & Irene Greek Orthodox Church
3074 Bethelview Road
Cumming, GA 30042

Admission:

Adults $1
Children 12 & under: free

Other Fees:  Food prices range – hotdogs are $3, fries are $3, Meat on a stick was $4, Gryo Sandwich was $6.  I would so most meals are going to cost around $6 to $9 and then extra for a drink.  Lots of desserts too – most of those were about $3.  We tried three different treats for $6 total.

Kids Activities – There are two inflatables – one bounce house and one slide.  For $2 the kids can get their hands stamped and jump to their heart’s content.  When it gets crowded it can become a little crazy, and honestly it just depends on who’s working as far as how that’s managed.  At first it was a little crazy & unruly and then some additional help came while our kids were playing and made them all take turns & line up.

There is also face painting & crazy hair (I believe those were $5 each) and an artist that will draw you for $15 for one person.

Music, Dancing & Entertainment - A variety of acts will perform & play throughout the day.
